NHS Hull - GPTV
A major initiative by the NHS Hull PCT is to run patient information programmes in GP surgeries around the city.
These programmes take the form of a TV ‘channel’ called GPTV which consists of a DVD of specially commissioned programmes running on plasma screens in GP’s waiting rooms and in the waiting area of Hull Royal Infirmary.
The PCT selected Classlane over companies from around the country to create and produce the content. Working with different teams at the PCT we created programmes on alcohol, smoking and fitness as well as developing tailored programmes for each individual surgery dealing with issues specific to them.
We decided to use the theme of ‘Hull people talking to Hull people’ and gathered interviews and vox pops with the general public and experts right around the city. The emphasis on the programmes was to entertain and educate.
