Classlane Media - Royal Television Society Award Finalists 2008 - Best Promotion

3rd Time Lucky?

June 03, 2010

Classlane at the RTS Awards

We’ve been nominated for a Royal Television Society Award for the third time.

After being nominated for “Best Promo” in 2008 and “Best Editor” in 2009 we’re delighted to announce that this year we’ve been nominated again for “Best Promo”, for our Philip Larkin film “Here”.

The film was commissioned by Larkin25 to promote their Philip Larkin commemorative events in Hull and East Yorkshire this year. It features a read of the poem “Here” by Sir Tom Courtenay and has so far been seen on cinema screens, shown on TV, distributed on the internet and made available on mobile phones. It was also nominated for “Best Short” at the Holmfirth Film Festival. You can view it above.

The Royal Television Society are the UK’s most prestigious industry organisation outside of BAFTA and nominations are only offered for exceptional work over the past year. The awards take place on June 14th and we’ll then know if it’s “third time lucky” or “always the bridesmaid”. Wish us luck.
