Another Excellent Job
September 26, 2008
We had a crew at HMS Excellent in Portsmouth this week.
Shooting started on a damage control programme for the Seafish Industry Authority which involved shooting in the navy’s Damage Recreation Instructional Unit. It’s basically a big water tank on hydraulic legs which rolls around and simulates the lower decks of a ship which has suffered damage to the hull.
For the second time this year, Stubbo volunteered to get gimped up in a wetsuit and flail around in the tank with our underwater minicam. He likened the experience to being in a washing machine while on a roller coaster – he’s not very good with words, our Dave.
The finished programme will be on this site in a few weeks, but in the meantime please enjoy the RNLI video above which features similar aquatic heroics.
