Hull GPTV Launch

The social marketing project we’ve been creating for NHS Hull launched today.
The project features short films on subjects like drinking, smoking and fitness and will be shown in the waiting rooms of GPs’ surgeries. They also feature programmes individually tailored to the surgery they are being shown in.
The films were received very enthusiastically at the launch by NHS staff, stakeholders and the Chief Executive of the Hull PCT, Chris Long and the Chair, Kath Lavery. The launch took place at New Hall Surgery in the north of the city and Dr Vincent Rawcliffe, a partner at the surgery, said this of the project: “We’ve managed to get messages across that we’ve been trying to for 20 years…. We’ve had the occasional patient say that they didn’t want to go into their appointment as they were enjoying the television too much”
The films in the project are all based on the idea of “local people talking to local people” and so the majority of the programming is based on interviews with people from across the city as well as vox pops and more conventional scripted pieces.
