Classlane filming in Mauritius

We’re heading back to Mauritius to shoot at the Shanti Maurice resort.

We were last on the island when we made a promo for the Anahita Resort in 2008, that film was very enthusiastically received and has accrued almost 25,000 hits on YouTube alone. This time we’re off to neighbouring Shanti Maurice, a 5 star resort renowned for it’s celebrated dining experience and ayurvedic spa (yes, we had to look ayurvedic up too).

The film crew fly out on Monday and may well be stopping off in Monaco for another job on the way back, details to follow.

You can watch the Anahita promo above or enjoy some of these interesting facts about Mauritius:

Mauritian’s speak English and French but mainly Creole which is called Kreol Morisyen on the island.

90% of the island is dedicated to growing sugar cane, their primary export.

Mauritius is most famous as the home of the Dodo, which was not made extinct by hunting (as popularly believed) but by the arrival of dogs, pigs and rats brought by the first human settlers. These animals destroyed the Dodo’s nests and ate their eggs. Today there are no existing Dodo remains as the last specimen was lost by the Natural History Museum.
