Sitting On The Dock Of The Bay (All Day)

November 16, 2009

Classlane filming on location

We’ve started work on a new film for North East Lincs Council.

The council have commissioned us to make a film which illustrates a working day at Immingham Docks, so we’re using time-lapse photography to capture the comings and goings. Immingham is the largest port (by tonnage) in the UK so we’ve planned shots which best show this off.

All that’s left to do now is to place a cameraman in various positions around the site with a crossword and a flask and tell them they can’t come home until they’ve shot something interesting. It’s a bit like those cameramen on “Life” who have wait 6 months up a hill in the Peruvian jungle until a hummingbird flies past at the right angle… but more uncomfortable and much colder.

We’ll post the finished film as soon as the cameraman thaws out enough to bring us the tapes, but in the meantime take a look at the promo we made for the GBA Group (above), parts of which were also shot at docks in Lincolnshire.
